Searching Patterns Using Row Amounts

Hello! This is a suggestion I thought of today after market prepping. I think that if you can search a pattern by how many rows/ rounds it has, it can make market prepping faster and easier.

If there is multiple parts in the pattern, either they get added together, or the creator can just enter that information in when they write that pattern. I think that this would help people market prepping or beginners who want a small project. That’s all, have a good day!

that would be great! especially when you want a quick project/birthday gift <33

maybe also biggest round st count? or total stitches? (though that would be hard)

hmm, this sounds like a good idea!

HOWEVER-

there are some considerations to take- what about the info and header lines? do those count? what about people who are newer to writing patterns and write everything on one line or split it up too much?

also, would different limbs/pieces’ rows count?

hopefully you understand where i’m going with this…im really tired and sleepy so forgive me if anything is unclear!

hm maybe! I think if you could filter the patterns like by crochet/knit/tunisian ect. and toys/clothing ect. but in your patterns

No, I get what you are saying! I’m not sure how it would work out, but I might keep thinking about this!

I love this idea! I made a suggestion about expanding different body part that are repeated (like what we can already do with repeated rows), which I think could make the math part of this a lot easier. As for whether it would include the headers, I don’t think it’ll influence the overall count enough to matter, but I think Ribblr could give an estimate, then let the designer edit the actual amount if it seems way off

Yesss!!! It would definetly help to know how big the pattern is, as it sometimes looks bigger/smaller in the photo than the actual plush/thing!!!

I love the idea, but it may be hard to implement. I also find myself looking for small and quick keychain size patterns, and wishing that there was a simple way to filter and find them instead.

Love this idea! It would be great for last minute market prep (aka name every time I have a market)
