I need suggestions with sewing limbs together with CHENILLE YARN!!
(I use a plastic bent-ish needle and I have an acrylic colour similar to the chenille one i’m using, its noticably different tho)
I’d use ordinary yarn, such as DK acrylic yarn. Just make sure it matches the same colour as the chenille yarn, or make sure it’s a very similar colour.
I use the long tail from the limbs to sew onto body. Youtube has good tutorials!
i used to use those plastinc needles, but they bend wayyy too easily. i definitely recommend getting some metal ones, they work way better
It’s fussy sewing with chenille, isn’t it?! I just try to not grab the yarn tail itself as much as possible so as to not pull fibers, and I noticed it’s better if the needle is close to the end of the tail to prevent stripping of the fibers with the eye of the needle.
I’ve done that soo many times, then i have chenille fuzz everywhere
The struggle is real!
I had to vaccum my room 2 times this afternoon because of all the chenille fuzz…
Lol oh noooo! I’m usually wearing black leggings( very mom of me, I know) and it sticks sooo bad.
My stitches are always too tight with chenille to use the chenille to sew it on. Trying to pull the yarn through makes it catch and pull off a ton of the fluff.
Plus, you give chenille a little tug and those two strands inside can snap pretty easily. It makes me a little nervous to sew them on with chenille and then come apart later.
I like to use acrylic in a similar color to sew things together.
I basically use a mattress stitch to attach my pieces and when I pull my yarn it pulls them together and hides the yarn.
Maybe use dk weight yarn in a similar colour/shade
Its recommended to use an acrylic yarn in a similar color to sew. Its difficult to sew with chenille yarn fuzzy mess all over.
