I made a size medium and I used 1 and a half cakes

This is the size of them

Also most good patterns say how much you need like in meters and grams so you can look at your yarn skein and see how much it says

Here’s an example

Ive decided to crochet this super cute granny stitch cardigan. It’s not that chilly here (obvi no snow here ofc) so i guess this cardigan will be perfect for me plus, it’s in my size. Brianna K also has a matching granny stitch beanie so i might crochet that too in the future. Here’s a link to the pattern if you want it:

I’m making size XS and will be using 10 balls of 50g DK cotton mix yarn.

Just look at the pattern description/ find a pattern that tells you. A cardigan is easily 1000-3000yds depending on the pattern.
Also check out raverly for clothing patterns.

There is a formula for finding out how much yarn you need for making a garment, you need to know the length and width of the garment for your size and the number of stitches used in your gauge swatch.

Length × Width × gauge / 6 = yards.

You find the yards and then use one of those free online yard to meters calculators to convert the yards into meters :sparkling_heart:
