Should I? :[

So, my pattern Camila The Base Doll Pattern, is not out yet, but im debating on even releasing it because there are so mamy mistakes that my testers have pointed out to me and its very overwhelming. So, I dont know if i will release it, just because i think i need to self edit first since im making alot more. But for now, i dont think its coming out.

I think you should wait until yr completely happy with it b4 releasing it and take as much time as you need!

There’s absolutely nothing wrong in waiting longer for the release! You can always do another pattern test when you feel it’s ready again  best of luck to you!!

Take your time and get the pattern how you want it. No worry or stress should be going into this. Just have fun making it, and we can all wait for it to come out.

I think you should NOT get rid of it.
Just take your time. I don’t think anyone is pushing you to hurry up and release it, people shouldn’t put mental labour on others like that anyway. Even if people are pushing you, they probably don’t know what it’s like in your shoes and are impatient.

Solution (???) ~
I would say to fix what the testers pointed out then maybe release another tester call with other people (?).
Or even open a fresh pattern template (like an empty one) then rewrite the pattern so you pick up typos and stuff. :woman_shrugging:

Don’t throw it out just yet!

For some of my pdf patterns I got testers sending paragraphs and paragraphs of mistakes and notes and suggestions

It happens!

Sometimes we’re a little distracted when we’re writing a pattern, sometimes our mind is drifting or unfocused or whatever, and more mistakes slip by. It’s normal that it happens but it’s also very normal to feel discouraged and overwhelmed when receiving the feedback.

My advice is:
Don’t edit the pattern right now. Don’t look at it for a couple of days. Let yourself recover from the emotional blow of having your work dissected and commented on and stuff. Then, when you feel calmer about it, pick a tester and read their feedback and edit the pattern according to it. Then take a break if you need, a few hours or even days. Pick another tester and go at it. And so on and so forth. When you finish editing with the advice from your testers, then take another break and do your own final edit.

There is no deadline for you. No one will go to your house and yell at you if you take days or weeks to release a pattern. No one decides when this pattern comes out except for you. You’re full in control. So, you have all the time you need to edit the pattern on your own time, while making sure that you’re taking care of your emotions as well.

Everything is ok. You got this! Recharge and when you’re ready, get back at it

Hey! I think adter testing the pattern, it has really good bones, and it really shouldnt be all that difficult to fix up! If you wanted to get an outside opinion, I could totally help you out on that! But, its also reasonable for you to just want to try to fix it on your own. Whatever you think!

Nothing wrong with releasing it later than you wanted to. Take your time and make it how you like it. Don’t worry about it or stress too much. <33
