Since its release, my mushroom trinket basket pattern has been very popular. So, I decided to show some of the early sketches for it!

As you can see, I originally planned to have the stem more spherical and have a different shaped cap. As I was working I decided to change the shape of the stem. I took about a million different tries to get the cap just right. After all, the cap is the first part of the mushroom that you will see.
In the top sketch, you will see that the mushroom is labeled #1 - Chonk. That is because I originally planned on making a decorative forest mushroom too. I am currently intrigued by the idea of making that old sketch, tomorrow’s post will discuss my ideas for that concept.
