Are we really just using video patterns as a way to promote videos and not actually giving anything written to go with them?
When they first launched, I was excited. This meant that we’re going to get patterns with video support instead of just pictures, right?
Every video pattern I’ve gotten has been only the video link and sucks to be you if you’re wanting something written to follow. Also sucks to be you if you move faster than the video. And ESPECIALLY sucks to be you if they have zero written anything because the captions don’t help.
Can anything be done about this in the future for video patterns? All one can do is archive to remove them from your library, even if they’re free patterns.

moved this to the suggestions space for ribblr as the support space is for technical problems.
i personally have only tried one video pattern, but mine came with written instructions? maybe it just varies if they do/don’t according to the designer. however, i think this is a good idea!

Hey! The idea of vPatterns or video patterns is something that is based around a video, and less so on written instructions. What we do though, is extract the instructions as described in the video, and of course designers can then edited it as they wish.
If you have come across patterns that don’t have any written instructions or seem incomplete please do report it to us and we’ll investigate and take actions!

None of the vpatterns I have used had written instructions. They all have section titles and a video link, but no words.
Is it possible that every designer is just removing the written instructions? Are they required to keep the written instructions? I’m wondering if it isn’t clear that they are supposed to keep the written instructions and are just deleting them.
