Some questions

Hi guys! I joined Ribblr around a week ago and I’m starting to understand it here, but there are some things I don’t understand

1- why is the Sc (single crochet) called Dc (double crochet)? Aren’t they the same? As I’ve been working for almost 3 yrs with Sc and never heard of Dc
2- what can I use the charts in? When I make a pattern there’s a “charts” option can be attached next to a row, I don’t understand is it for tapestry?
3- talking about tapestry, does anyone know a good tutorial to start with? Or a website I could change my pic into pixeled and work with it
4- How can I make a GC? I’ve been struggling with it as I make testing calls and I need to know how to make a GC for testers who be having questions or talking about a problem in the pattern.
5-How can I put my pattern in the dropping soon section?
6- if I want to try tapestry what hook size will I need and what’s the best yarn for it?

Hopefully these are the questions so far. Ty you all

Hey 1.
A dc is in English terms and a sc is in US terms
2.charts can be used in when you make a clothing pattern and have multiple sizes
3. Sorry I font k ow any but I might go see some and edit this reply
4. So basically you press on the chats and then at the bottom it says DMS and press that and then at the top there is a button with a plus I think and then press it and then click new group chat and then add the members and the name of the group

Correction: DC is UK terms! The US also uses sc haha

Also, for tester calls, people usually use this

Single crochet means you yarn over and pull under 2 loops once (US)
Double crochet means that you yarn over and pull under 2 loops twice (US)

Single crochet stitches don’t exist in UK terms, (neither does half double crochet (HDC), which is yarn over, pull under 3 loops)

Charts are used for tapestry. Hook sizes are probably the same as the yarn label says. If you have a shop here, you can make a pattern and add a chart to a line. I have one pattern, never to be published, that has random charts on each line. Fun for me to go in and create them. Try it out and have fun with them. To make the tapestry, there are a lot of helpful videos on YouTube. Maybe someone else can recommend one.

  1. I think you’re in UK terms instead of US terms
  2. I think it’s for tapestry, but I’m not sure
  3. No idea sorry
  4. You can make GC’s for testing by going to the shop icon selecting the… The pattern you want Click manage testing, then click make group message
  5. Going to your shop find the pattern you want to release click the button that says’ Private’ And it should come up with an option to release now or later
  6. Probably acrylic With whatever hook, the yarn label says to use
