Spanish-speaking crocheters!

Hi everyone! So i know some spanish and I want to know the word for crochet. Google Translate says its “tejer” but my spanish teach says it used for both but she always translates it as knitting. So is that correct, or is there an actual specific word for crochet?

¡Hola, todos! Quiero saber la palabra para “crochet.” My profesora de espanol dice es “tejer” pero ella siempre lo traduce como “knitting” Por favor, ayuda!

Tejer it’s a lot like if you were too live in the UK and then in the US in the US crochet uses one hook and knit uses two is how I’m going to word that in the UK they’re basically switching the meanings knit is crochet and crochet is knit! So in Spanish is a multi use word!
