For the wheel why do we have to feed a little bug. It used to be so simple but now the app is just becoming unenjoyable. It has so many gimmicks. The app should only be for patterns and for crafters to be able to help other crafters! I used to recommend this app to people but now i dont even mention it. Over the past few months as @Ribblr is adding new stuff and trying to fix stuff that had no probles with it, things are just becoming harder and harder.
For example @suettle said that the colors dont look good any more!
In the end things are just becoming harder and more annoying on Ribblr than enjoyable
Does anyone feel the same?
Feed ribbot is a new feature, where if you feed it 7 times, you can spin a prize wheel
I dont believe you have to feed ribbot either! If you prefer you can just skip over it and focus on patterns only!
This web site is getting annoying. I also have trouble getting back to things or people I have been following.
I enjoy most of these new additions and changes, but there are some I don’t like.
Like when I go to search, this is what comes up.
It used to say the shop name under the name of the pattern.
But I can kind of agree, the Ribbot is a bit annoying, but it’s quite smart; it makes you come back every day so you can get your prize.
I understand that they need to find ways to monetize the app to support it. It is not cheap to run such a good app with dedicated staff who are active and work to keep the community positive and safe. It’s a common dilemma, trying to balance the needs of users with the needs of the company to be sustainable and somewhat profitable.
The problems with using color select in Ribbuild mode has gotten worse for some Android users with recent updates, and it wasn’t great to start with. I’m optimistic though because Ribblr developers have made positive changes in the past that users asked for so I am confident they will eventually figure out the fix for this.
I tried the new feed the frog game today and it didn’t take too much time. I know a lot of people already weren’t playing the spin the wheel game because of the low price reward odds, but I always played it and I won $20 a few days ago so I’m tickled about that!
Id definitely make a suggestion post about it! Most times of change in growth comes with its hiccups and features you miss, so that would be one id bring up!
I know i search by designer a lot, so maybe it could tie in with something like that!
I was glad to see the announcement about search getting some much needed improvements. I basically want Ribblr to have all the features I love from Ravelry.com plus everything I love about Ribblr, and then some!
The Worst thing I think is that every one is woting for the frog logo it doesn’t feel like a craft app more like a child game I really like the old logo more
Well, Ribbot is not a bug, it is a frog.
And I think when they changed the wheel spin to weekly (so they can offer different prizes, because the company can really only afford to giveaway so much for free) it became hard to track/ guess when it would pop up. It was randomly throughout the week, this just kind of gives you something you can do daily again, but also keep track of when that weekly wheelspin will be.
Adding new features always has some bugs and drawbacks. Some people really do not like change, and need an adjustment period. Some may not like the changes at all. I think it is good to voice your concerns and offer any suggestions you would like to see.
They really are trying their best to find a balance between everything. Media and the times change so quickly, and I have noticed that a lot of the active users on Ribblr seem to be under 18, which means things like votes and daily suggestions are going to be heavily influenced by teens.
At the end of the day, they are trying.
They have to find ways to draw people in and make the app exciting and promote growth.
If you have concerns or find any bugs feel free to voice them. Without it, you may not see the changes you desire. But also, try to remember these are people, who are trying their best. This platform/ website is still pretty new and may change and evolve still. Voice those changes you want to see in the future
i do wish they would keep the app icon without the frog. while i do think it’s cute, i just don’t think it makes much sense for people discovering the app
Ribblr makes it look like a game, not really a crafting website.
Excatly. BRING THE OLD BACK!!!
I totally do. I’ve been using Ribblr since the beginning and I really feel it’s gone downhill. First it was only patterns and crochet/knit discussion. It was perfect. Now there’s way too many advertisements and I do not like how they sell yarns now. I don’t love that people sell makes either since it is a platform for patterns but it’s not the absolute worst. Also in the posts section now it is flooded with random content not even craft related anymore. I barely use Ribblr now and I miss the old Ribblr!
Exactly, it is more about the money than the people themselves
Thank you
Exactly. I am a teenager and i come here for patterns not for games
I am a teenager and i do enjoy games but at the appropriate time and place! This app was created for crafters to get patterns not to feed a little frog
The frog not necessary and not craft related
Hi! There’s a way to make it so you don’t see posts from non-craft related spaces. If you click on “All spaces” and go into one you’re not interested in, there’s a little bell icon next to the purple “New Topic” you can click on to mute it. Then those posts won’t appear anymore for you.
