YES I AGREE
when i was looking for a crochet app before i got ribblr i saw an app that was you use AI to crochet not make a pattern but to literally make a picture of a plushie that looks crocheted which is really stupid because i like crochet because i actually get to use my hands to make gifts and i can feel proud because i know that i made it and its calming and stuff and i owe so much to my crochet because earlier in the year i broke both my wrists and started to really crochet a lot more than i was and i was able to fully move my wrists within a wk and a half when really they were expecting it to take 4 weeks (if anyone is reading this sorry it was so random:zany_face:)

Well said. I am glad that you choose the right path and complete the assignments for yourself. In all reality, the person they are cheating/hurting are themselves. They won’t be able to produce great results themselves in the future because they never put the time in to learn how to do it in the first place.

I once asked my professors what is the difference between a bachelor of arts degree and a bachelor of science degree. I was studying Biology and Chemistry at the time towards a BA degree.

I was told the main difference was that for a BS you learn by memorizing your subjects. For a BA degree, you learn how to find the answers to the questions asked, rather than memorizing the answers. This difference becomes apparent when you leave college. I may not remember the exact formula, or pathway to solve a problem, but I know where to look for it. This does tie back into AI. You can use AI to help you with how to word something better, or you can use it to write your entire paper. One way will help you in the future, one way will not help you in real life in the future.

You have to make your own decisions, and I’m glad you are choosing the right path.

Nooo im so sad this is happening to ribblr!

That may be, but when using gifs, we aren’t using it as our own property, simply as a way to express a thought.

Yes, I agree ribblr is one of the few places that has almost zero AI stuff and it is a safe place for crafters to enjoy their free time:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

yeah but youre still supporting AI by using it and you gotta admit it’s ironic and deadass pretty funny:skull:

The only reason i have been hesitant to post my patterns is i am worried someone else will claim it, but taking code from an app is just pure evil.

This is not okay. Stealing-from an already created and used platform-is never acceptable. I’m sorry this is happening to you again; please know that everyone on Ribblr (I do belive that I’m speaking for everyone when I say this) will stand with you in the battle for YOU.

Yes you are correct. Should I retract the entire sentiment? Do you use autocorrect and auto fill while typing? Or do you type every word and correct everything yourself?

Maybe I shouldn’t have used the gif, but the sentiments of my post remain.

This is awful… AI patterns and stealing are literally everywhere…

I have just migrated from Etsy precisely because of all the AI slop.

I see stolen patterns all the time on here and there is no way to report them which makes it useless and disappointing.

sadly i’ve seen more ai and stolen patterns on etsy than on ribblr. so I’m honestly not sure that’s better :’D

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. :tulip:
