Hi all! I’m bored and trying to distract myself from my feelings, so I’m starting this topic.
I know it probably isn’t too likely given the average age of users on this app, but how many of you out there are Stephen King fans? Mainly the books, but the movies can count too.
I’ve been reading King’s books since I was 12 (am now 20). I started with the Tommyknockers, and my most recent finish was The Dark Half. I have read a total 41 King books, some of which were collections that contained multiple stories.
If you have read some of Stephen King’s books, what was your favorite? Mine would probably be either The Shining, Needful Things, or The Talisman.
And which is your least favorite? (No judgement here - mine was Misery)
Yeah, no one is going to be able to respond to this, are they?

Don’t worry, some of us are old. Much older than you - my youngest daughter is 6 years your senior lol
I generally love 4/5ths of every Steven King novel I’ve read. I just hate his endings, like… the vast majority of them.
I loved Needful Things and was severely disappointed in the movie adaptation. Pet Cemetery is probably my all time favorite, and may have been the first I read (either that or Salem’s Lot, which I also enjoyed). I read The Green Mile as each novella came out - I was in combat/build school in the Navy at the time, so they were the perfect length and I felt it was a strong story. Other strong contenders are It (except for the 'bonding experience scene in the sewers, iykyk, just… ew), The Mist (though the movie ending was FAR superior), and The Stand (as long as you pretend the last two chapters or so simply don’t exist. The ending of The Stand was my last straw - I seriously starting reading all but the last two chapters of most King novels after reading that one lol)
Least favorite? Gerald’s Game. Just… ugh. Unnecessary villain for the loss. lol
