agreed.
that would be nice, but it still won’t stop people
Thank you! I reported it, but there’s a slight chance I did it wrong
Yes, I think this is extremely important!!! Pattern rights are so often disrespected, and it’s horrible thinking the creator might not even know. Thank you so much for bringing it up
It wouldn’t, but it might be enough to repel some by finding out it’s not as easy, and it would raise awareness about the stealing. Plus it would make it easier to identify stolen patterns.
I’ll report it too.
And it isn’t fair on those who make patterns and people make them payed ones
Toylore has A LOT of stolen patterns on that Etsy.
ik! that made me mad.
That shop even has ai patterns
You’d have to use a different photo editor to put watermarks on your pictures, then use that as the uploaded picture into Ribblr. It’s possible, just requires another step.
If I wrote patterns I would do exactly that.
Apparently you can do it ON Ribblr too!
I wan in!! This I a very serious matter, I can’t believe people are doing this!
I’m so glad so many people want to be part of this!!!
It breaks my heart. I always water mark my photos for this reason. Won’t fully stop if they pretended to be me but definitely helps deters those who steal For their own accounts
This is awful, hopefully we can get all the stolen patterns taken down
Yes!!!
Sadly a watermark does not stop people, there are those who just want a pattern and rather not pay to get it (I’ve had several contacting me under the guise of a pattern trade, but would trade with other people’s patterns). I add my username on all my free oatterns on insta, but I was contacted a couple of days ago about how someone is selling my free pattern on Etsy. So a watermaker dont stop it, even when I’m checking over this website, they aren’t hiding the names of the designers, so whoever is uploading all these patterns doesn’t really care, much like the people who download them don’t care as long as they get a free pattern.
I hope this doesn’t sound too pessimistic, sadly I’ve had some of mine stolen and sold so it’s become a sad reality that many designers are living in and can only hope to report listings and post and wait to see if they’ll be taken down.
