Struggling to get clean lines with amigurumi (chunky yarn)

Hi guys :heart_hands:

I’m pretty new to crochet (and to Ribblr) and have recently started using chunky yarn. i started on making an amigurumi bee, however when i got to the black stripe - part, I noticed the line did not line up at the start/end of that row (see image). This is of course because amigurumi works in a ‘spiral’, however I was wondering if there still is a way to fix it. As I was hoping to get the lines to look a bit cleaner

Try the concentric circle technique, it makes the color changes much cleaner, almost invisible. There are tutorials on YouTube.

I have the same problem!
It’s not the yarn, it’s the way you colour change I think

If you want smoother lines, i suggest the sl st close and chain one start rather than continuous circle in amigurumi

Couple of things,
That is called a jog when the color stripe doesn’t line up, it’s caused because the end of the round is where you are making a color change to the new color to start the next round.
This is fixed by working a color change stitch, which you need to learn at some point anyway to make clean color changes, and not have the small dash to the left of the last stitch/top of the next stitch
When you are on the last stitch of a color, you will yo and pull up a loop, drop current color and pick up new color, yo and finish the stitch.
Easy peasy
Here’s a video
