I have been curious on how to start making my own patterns but I have no idea where to start. What is some of the things that helped you guys? Or good suggestions? I see so many creative patterns it is so insanely cool and I want to be able to create like that.

When I first started wanting to make patterns, I just watched videos on YouTube about how to make them and they helped a lot! The only thing that I struggled with is just finding out WHAT to make. But If you are stuck on what to make maybe look through some drawings in pinterest? Another thing for making a pattarn is, if you’re making your first pattern maybe start a bit simple so that you can just type out an easy pattern and figure out how testing works and figure out how typing a pattern here works.

Designing is mostly having an idea and then a lot of trial and error. Not everything is going to turn out exactly as you imagined and that is okay! The more you create, the better you’ll get

Sometimes I like to make hybrids to make more unique patterns - like two animals mashed together or foodimals! I also like to write down the different rounds as I’m crocheting - instead of writing it all down at the beginning and then tweaking it later. Can’t wait to see what you make!
