Make sure your tension is looser, otherwise it will be too stiff!

Or if your tension is tighter you could steam or block it

maybe do a gauge? And practice colourwork before hand if you’ve never done it before

I’ve started so many wearables but I never finish them 
( I finished a jumper knitting once but crochet takes longer) I was tempted to buy this one in the flash sale earlier too it’s so cute. I have most of this designers patterns wishlisted maybe one day I’ll be motivated to try them. Good luck
