In your profile, there could be a drop menu you click on it and then you can decide one of 4 options. I’m one could be absolutely love being tagged. Option two can be love being tagged, but not in giveaways. Number three could be I’d prefer not to be tagged at all. An option number four could be never tag me unless I get permission. And when you go to tag someone, the options could pop up green beans you love being tagged. Yellow as the second option. Orange being the third. Red being the fourth.

Honestly, even a simple option of turning off tags in your profile settings so your username won’t be suggested/auto populated when people try to tag you would be great. Plus no notifications for tags.

There is one pretty big issue with this from a designer standpoint. Sometimes there is a need to tag testers who are working on your patterns (particularly unresponsive ones when it’s unclear if they ghosted or are just quiet). This would make it really difficult to get their attention.
In general it’s a great idea, but causes some problems.

This idea stems from people not wanting to be tagged. I was simply offering a different idea, not explaining op’s idea. Their idea could be a huge undertaking and a lot of programming so I offered something easier to implement.
