Stop rq!!
The 2nd pic is an actual pattern.
Iā€™ve seen it on etsy!!
They use the AI pic for a better lighting-look, but they actually have the pattern, and a real video of the product.
If you post a pattern based on the 2nd pic, that would be technically be against ribllrā€™s guidelines, to post something of yours, not someoneā€™s.
Would it(?)

The first image though, is true. I hate AI pics :/
Itā€™s fun for me to use as ref pic for drawing, but otherwise itā€™s just sad how many people abuse it, using it to seemā€™talentedā€™

The second pattern, the pattern is also a.i. generated! Although they did make a physical plushie with the pattern, the pattern is indeed A.I.

I may not make that one, though, just in case, or just make an example, but not sell the pattern.

You are amazing for posting this. I wasnā€™t fully aware of the impact that this has, so I would love to join. But where do we post the project?

Once it is done, you can upload the pattern to your Ribblr shop, then post it here, or pm me with it. I will then share it in my blog post

Ok, I just looked it up, A.I generated content cannot be legally copyrighted in the U.S., thus it is not illegal if I were to do so. I still donā€™t know what I am going to do just yet.

I completely agree and love that youā€™re taking a stand against this issue! Iā€™ve been seeing a countless amount of AI patterns recently. My mom continuously recommends them to me because she doesnā€™t understand theyā€™re AI, and itā€™s not just her. So many people see these AI pictures thinking theyā€™re going to be making a super cute pattern and end up disappointed, especially when they cost money! Itā€™s not ok that those people and crochet designers keep getting ripped off by these fakes. Iā€™m personally not a designer so I canā€™t participate, but I really appreciate you exposing this issue!

Iā€™d love to join! Iā€™m not the best at designing patterns though :(

Supporting this!! Iā€™ve seen sooo many awesome final projects only to notice they were not real! I would love to participate but I also am not positive I could meet the deadline as I am working on a yarn holder pattern and have a couple tests going.

this sounds like such a great idea! iā€™ve spent time trying to explain to others on ribblr about the harms of AI art and using AI to create patterns, as at the very least, it is unethical, but it is also considered stealing, as the AI was built on the hard work of others. anything generated by AI was taken from someone who worked really hard and honed their craft, so itā€™s really disheartening to see how many AI generated images and patterns are being created and shared.

i just want to clarify, do we find an AI crochet image that has already been created, then try to make an actual version of that? i wouldnā€™t want to buy someoneā€™s AI pattern from etsy since that would be supporting theft, so i just wanted to get some clarification on the project details. thank you!

I want to join. I agree :100:. I seen things that is machine made in stores and once wash it falls apart. We as crocheters and knitters needs to take a stand and have them stop using A.I. or anything that is not made with our own hands.

I want to join! A.I patterns are just horrible they donā€™t just ruin it for other pattern designers but also for the crocheters that want to make the product but wonā€™t be able to
