Tapestry crochet question 🤔

The way I did my first tapestry was take some yarn and a needle and thread through the top of the tapestry, looped it around the stick. then repeat until the end of the tapestry.

My most recent tapestry wasn’t square shaped, so the stick was attached on the back of the piece with strands spaced out to attach the stick (used starch spray to stiffen the tapestry first though)

ohhh i didnt know you could use starch spray :0 when you attach it w the yarn and needle is it secure enough? or do you also use spray on those loops to make it harder?

It’s secure enough  you don’t need to spray the loops. The starch spray is just used to help the tapestry keep its shape and stiffen it. The loops can just be added on without anything sprayed onto it.

here’s the back of the second tapestry I was talking about

It depends on the stick also. If you have a dowel, you can make some open spaces at the top to weave it through. Like filet crochet. DC, ch 1 (or 2), repeat across.
