Taylor swift crochet dress

So i’m sure all of you have seen taylor swifts new crochet dress but in case you haven’t here a pic:

I’ve seen a couple of youtube videos and it seems pretty simple but I don’t have any good yarn for it. Does anyone have any good yarn recs?

It looks like you could do it in acrylic or cotton, although people usually suggest cotton for clothing. I did make a few acrylic tops though, and I didn’t have a problem! If you’re going to do acrylic, I would use lion brand pound of love. It’s very soft unlike red heart, and it has very similar colors! There’s a lot of it too lol
For cotton, I’m not too sure because I don’t use it much, but I think you could get big cones of lily sugar’n cream

Yep- the acrylic I mentioned is about 8 dollars for a pound, and cotton is 15 going by weight

Lily sugar and cream cotton yarn is incredibly cheap but the skeins are tiny. I use it a lot but for cotton clothes I like lion brand 24/7 in size 4. it’s about double-triple the price of L&C but you get more yarn and better quality. Good luck!!! Also there’s nothing wrong with using acrylic but most people find that after a few years it starts to fuzz or pill where the fibers fray and roll up into little pill like bits. The proverbial dust bunny of the closet.
