Hi. My mom and I have decided that we would like to teach a whole bunch of people to knit. For those of you who know how to knit, do you have any tips and tricks ?

Don’t use skewers: it can be very easy to get some nasty splinters.

This might just be me, but I’m a beginner so I just got whatever knitting needles I could find but they were metal and they started to bend a little. Not sure if that helps, but good luck!
All needles will bend to some extent. I’ve always used metal as the others are inclined to break, especially if they are the smaller sizes. I would always recommend metal over the others.
