i would love to test! i would use white acrylic yarn with a 3mm hook

Not really! I’ve used acrylic and cotton for this project - both worked absolutely fine
I used DK and 3.0mm hook for the one in photo but you can also go smaller or larger. As long as your hook is slightly smaller than what you would usually use for the yarn, any size should work!
