No there are no yarn requirements, But if you want it to be like a decoration for your room or the size of a medium sized house plant then yes. I used red heart cafe latte for the dirt, big twist pale peach for the pot, and red heart frost green for the plant along with a size US 3.00 mm hook.

Hi so it looks like I have it in my testing area however the only pattern in the pattern itself is the leafs/stems there is nothing with the pot or dirt.
