It’s been a while, everyone, but I am back with a new pattern! And a few more I’m formatting not too far behind.
Here is the background story of this pattern. It was actually one of my first and went through a few different shape options. I originally made the first version of this pattern in 2023, almost a year after I first started learning to crochet. I wanted to create my own pattern and found sea creatures to be the easiest to start with. I have made several and sold many of them. They also make for great baby gifts.
Now on to the actual testing.
I am looking for 8-10 testers for my fish pattern and will select them in 2-3 days.
Due Date: Monday, June 15 (provides a week and a half to complete the tester)
Additional Requirements:
Must stay active in the GC (no ghosting, please give me notice if you can’t make the due date, an extension can be considered)
Provide feedback on any errors in the GC, not the journal (pattern suggestions, typos, edits, etc.)
Post a journal with a decent quality photo
If you have read this far and want to be considered for testing, comment your yarn and hook size you plan to use, as well as a fish emoji
If you would like to be tagged in the release, please let me know!
Thank you!

Edit: I forgot to mention, there is full creative liberty (including colors). I have made a few fish with color changes that I have positioned into splotches. So feel free to make one with your own unique color patches and let me know in your comment if you would like to try to make one like this. If I get enough votes from my testers, I may add notes in the pattern to make one with the patches. Share your thoughts on if you would like to see this or not, too.
I would to test your fish!!! The fins are adorable!! I would use chenille yarn with a 4 or 4.5 hook. Either purple or pink! Maybe make an acrylic one in orange to see the size difference!
So cute!! I’d love to test using weight 1 thin chenille yarn (2.5mm hook), or weight 6 chenille yarn with a 5.5mm hook if I have enough yarn… The colors would be blue or purple!
I’d be happy to test. Due date, journal, photos, feedback not a problem.
Do you have a color preference? I could do a blue fish in a thin chenille that takes a 2.0 hook or a yellow fish in a #4 acrylic with a 3.5/4.0mm hook. (Sorry, don’t know the exact weight of the chenille.)
Here’s the photo for the last fish crochet piece that I just got done testing, in case you’re interested in seeing it.
No specific color requirements. Feel free to do whatever you’d like.
I’ll add this to the post, but I have made a few versions where I did random color changes to create splotches. It turns out really cute and if I get enough votes from my testers, I may add color changes in the pattern. If you would like, you could create your own unique color patches.
That fish is so cute! I love it, thank you for sharing it. It’s very well done.
