Tester call for Crochet: Herringbone Stitch Basket

hello! :leaf_fluttering_in_wind: i’m slowly catching up on adding all my pre-existing crochet patterns on here, so let me introduce to you the Herringbone :fish: Stitch Basket!

The Herringbone Stitch was actually the first one i ever wanted to learn but at the time i gave up finding it too confusing… i went back at it later and decided to make an as comprehensive tutorial as possible for beginners (as well as for my very own short term memory ) … and of course it was an opportunity to make more plant baskets! :basket: :herb:

This 35 pages pattern comes in several parts:

☆ a step by step tutorial with pictures to learn how to do the herringbone stitch crochet pattern that you will be able to use for any type of future project

☆ detailed instructions to crochet 2 different sizes baskets

☆ tips to customize easily the size and appearance of your basket or project

So to be sure that nothing got lost while turning the pdf into an ePattern, (and to check if nothing needs to be improved still ) i’m looking for a few testers who would agree to either:

  • make a basket (custom or suggested size)

  • make a sample (or another object) using the star stitch instructions

Testers will be selected in a few days, due date for testing will be on june 22th.

To apply:

  • u can be a beginner in crochet but you need to know the basics (how to single crochet on a magic ring, basics like yarning over etc.) so please let me know!

  • tell me which project you’re planning on doing (basket or sample or other object)

  • which type of yarn you’re planning on using

  • will fill the journal and provide some good pictures

  • add :fish: :fast_forward_button: :blue_heart: to your message so i know you’ve read all the requirements

  • please apply through Ribblr by clicking the link below so i can find you!! :folded_hands:t2:

thank uuu, can’t wait to see your makes!

I would love to test this and the star stitch basket. I just have too much on my plate at this time. I would love to be tagged in the releases and future testing calls. If you have any testing for July/August I should be able to test then.

These baskets are amazing.

Thanks for the tag! I went to UTube and looked at the stitch and I’m going to pass on this one. Good luck with your test.

so cute, unfortunately dont have time right now, but good luck with testing!

If you don’t get enough testers, let me know. I could possibly fit it in, but at the end of the month.

I’d love to give this one a try!

I definitely have time for a sample before the due date, and can try for a pot too, if I can find any time! :fish::fast_forward_button::blue_heart:

I’d like to use one of my thicker yarns from my yarn stash (unnamed, but at a guess would be 10ply), but also have other yarn if you’d prefer something specific. :herb:

P.S. the note about the sample in your post mentions star stitch, but I’m guessing that it is for the herring bone stitch, yes? I’m guessing it’s just been carried over from notes on the (very cool) star stitch pots you posted recently.

I would use a bernat blanket yarn and a 5mm to a 6.5mm hook depending on the actual thickness of the yarn. I have never done a harring bone stitch and I love to learn new things!!

Medium acrylic and both things! :fish: :fast_forward_button: :blue_heart:
