Is there a gauge? People usually will use different needles to meet the correct gauge

Why must you use the exact needles?

i do recommend for the scarf to work out, to use the 4 mm needles with the right yarn. I want to make sure that the 50 gram skein will suffice to make the correct length of scarf. After that people can adjust as they wish, but for the test I want to make sure that the 50 grams works out with the 4mm needles.

I can see what you mean, but a lot of people have very different tensions in knitting. For instance I get that same gauge with the same yarn with 5.5 needles, if I used 4mm in this case, then it still wouldn’t be the right size, you know what I mean?

i totally get it, if you think that you could reach the same gauge with your tension, please feel free to apply. My goal is to have an easy pattern to make a small scarf with a 50 gram skein. I did put measurements in the pattern, so that should allow different gauge to reach the same results.
