I’d use weight 4 blue and yellow yarn with either a 3.5mm or 4mm hook:mushroom:

I’m interested in testing! :mushroom::brown_mushroom:

I would use weight 4 acrylic yarn in a beige-ish color for the base (similar to yours) and probably pink or brown for the top.

row 5 says: “Sc2, inc ×2, skip the last stitch (8)”

It only comes out to 6 stitches with 2 left unaccounted for, so I did 2 more SC after the INCs

“row 7: Sc2, inc ,sc1×2(10)”

This would be more clear if you added parentheses around the part to be repeated like: (sc 2, inc, sc)x2 (10)

and

“row 9: 9 Sc2, inc, sc in the last stitch (13)”

would be easier to figure out as: (SC 2, INC)x3, SC (13)

same with row 11. 13, & 14

Row 12, I did (sc 2, inc)x6 to get the 24 stitchs.

This is a wonderful pattern. Thank you so much for letting me test it out for you.

The last row of the base was bigger than the last row of the hat, so I decreased every 3 stitches in the base layer when stitching them together. So 2 regular SCs, then I went through one stitch of the top layer and two stitches of the bottom layer. That made them fit together when attaching them.

I noticed this issue too, but I did (sc2, inc) x2 to make up for the missing stitches. Not sure which method was correct.

Guys, I’m releasing this pattern tomorrow, it’s okay if you send a photo later but just for you to know I’ll still release a pattern ^_________^

Thank you so much for the cute pattern!

One issue I noticed was that the top and bottom pieces had a different number of stitches, so I could not attach them by just SC across the whole perimeter. Instead, I decided to SC 4, then skip 1 stitch on the base attach the 2nd stitch on the base to the next stitch on the top. This method caused the bottom to have cute little bumps that I felt looked mushroom-y! Hopefully that made sense.
