Tester GC not showing up

I made a tester chat for my new pattern, but I can’t get to it. It keeps saying I haven’t made one yet, but I’ve made it twice now…

Did you make it from inside the testing tools?

Yes. I did

there are two ways to send out the group chat message:

  1. the clipboard 1, 2, 3 options from the pattern in your shop
  2. the ā€œsend messageā€ button at the top of the pattern where you assign your testers

I have found that I can only send the message through the second option, not sure why, but that’s how it’s been for my past few tests.

I did the second option, but I hasn’t worked. I’ll try the clipboard one now just in case

That’s strange, have you checked with the testers to see if it showed up for them? I know that it won’t appear until a tester replies in a group chat I believe

It shows up in the sent folder in your inbox if it was successfully sent, I always check it now after a few of my first messages didn’t get sent and I come back to 10 individual messages asking where the groupchat is

I’ll ask the testers…

I think what happened to me a few times is that I had a tester (or testers) change their username but not log out and back in so maybe the system could find all the users the message should have went to and it failed to send. Not actually sure if this was the problem or if it was something else entirely.

What I had to end up doing is just manually making the group chat myself and adding everyone individually. What you can do, is go to your inbox and start a new message, create the title (i.e. ____ testing), add all your testers and send out your message as you wanted.

Yes, it’s saying it can’t make the message because a user doesn’t exist. I’ll make it manually. Tysm Scarlet!

@Scarletskies Good to know! Glad the testers reached out

@craftycellist I think I saw this happen before, when you manually do it, you should be able to find which user isn’t able to be added. If a tester can’t be added I would contact Ribblr to see what the issue is so it can fixed!
