testers not finishing patterns in time

So i was wondering how do yall deal with testers that dont finish the pattern and dont inform you they need an extension either. im testing my first paid pattern and about 6 tester have kinda ghosted me. im not really sure what to do in this situation.
has this ever happened to yall? how did you manage it?

It happened to me too. I blocked them as testers and moved on. I was lucky cause I was testing three similar patterns and only happened in one of them, the less detailed one so I was able to fix any mistakes by myself.

I think the best thing you can do is make another tester call.

I’m sorry this happened to you

If they don’t say anything and the due date goes by I remove them from the test and block them. If they say something and then ghost I usually just remove them from the test for not finishing and give them a second chance if they apply to a later test. It happens far to often.

I try to be a little lenient because the time zones change the dates differently, so a couple of days extra. Maybe a time countdown would be better, like when feeding Ribbot. I mention them in the group message and try to get communication going and encourage them. Then block and remove pattern for them. Are we still on the ā€œwaitā€ for better testing options? Or did we get them all already? To me, dealing with this situation is harder than testing in the first place.

if they don’t say anything and the due date goes by, i will just not accept them again

I usually tag them when the due date is 2 days away so they can’t say they ā€˜didn’t know’ when the due date comes along. If they just ignore you, I’d say block them

i do that as well, i forgot to mention it though lol

Yes actually happening to me now
There are 3, they haven’t responded to anything about the due dates. I even offered an extension and asked if they weren’t able to finish that they message me, but they haven’t. I get things happen but i would like to know so i can release my pattern also since this is my first.

i think you should just release the pattern if u already have people that tested it. ive noticed some people just apply to test without even reding the tester call, they probably just want the petterns :sob:

Alright thank you, and thank you for testing it.

Yeah, don’t gift patterns if they didn’t respond at all.

Pretty much what others have said - I just remove and block. It’s nothing personal, so one shouldn’t feel bad about it.

Thank you, ill be posting it in a day or so. Its gonna be in my shop for free, so look out for it.

There should definitely be a better system in place to make sure that the testers don’t ghost the designers like this

And the other way around, if the designers ghost the testers. That shouldn’t happen either

You could probably put in the tester call ā€œhard-deadlineā€ if you need people to finish by the due date, and if they ghost, remove them from testing.

There is a countdown for the testers:upside_down_face:. Some patterns have it and some don’t so I am not sure how u set it. But it certainly makes it easier to remember the due date:smiling_face:

I guess I didn’t know how it is written though. Does it show the date? And, does it change the date depending on your time zone? Or does it show the hours left? I am an editor not tester so I don’t see that side of things.

It tells you how many days ypu have to test, im not sure if it can do hours, I’ve never had one in my testing tab long enough to know. It should change for the time zones… I think is works similarly to how you can add dates on posts and everyone can see it in their timezone

I’m not sure it does change for your timezone bcs when I go to school it will say like 3 days remaining, and then when I come back at like 4 or 5 in the afternoon, it will say 2 days remaining.

I think that forming a group chat is the way to go about testing because is easier to check that messaging section to keep track of tests, at least that works for me. I get email messages generated by Ribblr reminding of due dates which may be associated with the group chats.
