The art of crochet

Passed on to another generation! 2 granddaughters. They knew how to make a chain and sc back and forth down the chain. First time making a circle! This is just the beginning! Whoop!

They bought this at hobby lobby knowing I would help them learn. Fun. Oh, did I mention they are also left-handed? Haha. Kinda hard! Made it through round 3 though. So excited for them! :yarn:

I love this! My grandma taught me with a chain/sc back when i was a kid. Had the amigurumi kits been around back then i probably wouldve kept up with it.

Good luck getting through the kit! Im sure theyll turn out great with your guidance :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: and be a forever memory for them, some of my favorites are craft time with my grandparents.

Stick with it grandma! I’m a lefty too, and my grandma taught me. There are great resources for lefties.

Maybe a next project could be my chicken. I have attached videos for lefties and righties. (Actually, you have most of my patterns, so you could do the heart with a sun with them too as an option)

Yes. I wish they would have let me pick the pattern. I saw online that the directions have an error too. They don’t live as close to me now so mama will have to take over helping them, with me on a phone. She crochets, but never amigurumi. I will send her your chicken pattern. They will love it. I told them they had to teach mama now.

How awesome that they got to learn this skill from their grandma!
And they made a lot of progress, too:blush:
I’m sure they enjoyed it.
It’s so satisfying making neat things with just a few tools.

I love the kit, but ofc not many people on this app (including me) like hobby lobby, and if you want I could recommend some brands of good crochet kits (other than wooble).

I’m sure many do also. It was a gift from the other grandma, who doesn’t do amigurumi and wouldn’t / couldn’t help. In the future, I would give them my own homemade kit. Thanks though.

Ofc

I decided to work up the Pooh and Piglet myself, so I know how to fix the pattern directions for them. Wow, a lot of mistakes in it. I can’t imagine a newbie crocheter trying to do it. Here’s my first one done, Piglet. I think I need to add stripes around his shirt. Didn’t seem necessary until now.
