I like them both but it depends on what I am making

If it’s a plush or a blanket I use chenille yarn but if it’s accessories or hats or something I use acrylic

chenille, It’s so soft and easier to work with than acrylic, acrylic is good for making realistic things tho, so more chenille side but acrylic is good too

BOTH I also like cotton!

Acrylic for the consistency over time. Chenille yarn doesn’t seem to hold up as well over time, I’ll use chenille as accent pieces, but for a whole piece sounds nerve wracking. I don’t want my effort wasted if the piece starts falling apart.

Acrylic bc it’s cheaper and less messy

Yeah it doesn’t last very long, and sheds so much:) but I love the look :pink_heart:

Chenille is also my favourite for amigurumis, they turn out so cute and soft :pink_heart:

acrylic simply cause its way easier to get ahold of… not to say i dont like Chenille type yarns I just cannot find it its more expensive and when i do find it its very few colors…

also the times i have gotten chenilles the consistency of the yarn weight was weird… i mean yes i have it happen with acrylic types but not as much..

Chenille!!! It’s softer to work with and it makes really cute and soft plushies!

Depends on what I’m making. If I’m making a plushie (especially if I want it to be a bit on the bigger side) I like chenille. But for bags, hats, keychains, earrings, smaller things, I like to avoid chenille.

For me - suprisingly - it depends on what I’m making. When making a realistic dragon, which is my current obsession, I MUCH prefer using acrylic.

But for making more simple/low/nosew patterns I MUCH prefer using chenille, because it just flies through my fingers (honey bunny is my absolute all time favourite) There is just one problem: it’s expensive and I’m just a teen without a side job because I spend all my time crocheting and I undercharge for my work (I don’t really care about that) but I also don’t sell my patterns (I just find SOOOOO much joy in posting them for free)

Someone tell me I’m not the only one with that problem

I feel the same about selling my patterns, I love the thought of my pattern being available to everybody who wants to make them.

It depends on how I’m feeling.

I use them both and enjoy working with both. I think it really comes down to the pattern you’re making.
