Hey! I think this is your first time, but let me help you. Usually, you message them privately so making a group chat with just them and not in the testing zone. But it’s ok! Everyone makes mistakes! If you need any help, just ask me!

No it’s fine! When you go to the pattern, click the paper icon and it will show like adding testers and message testers. You assign them first and press message testers and it will make you a private group chat and you put everything like when it is due, pictures ex.
If that doesn’t make sense please tell me!

Thank you for making this chat and choosing me to test. This was so much fun to make and I have to commend you for an absolutely beautiful pattern with a lot of attention to detail.

I have completed a journal as well: What a cute whale! My daughter picked out the colors and I think they turned out great. Adding a smile gave it a nice touch. Took me about 2 hours to make (I’m not a very fast crocheter). Made using Big Twist Baby Bear in Blue Skies, Strawberry Smoothie, Lavender, and Vanilla with a 4mm hook and 12 mm eyes. Pattern is clear and easy to to follow.

I do have a few notes.

  1. Whale fins: It may be helpful especially for beginners to note that you have to make two fins. While I know this is obvious it can be helpful to some. Line 5 of the pattern states “Chain 1, sc tog (6)” I don’t know if this is just a personal lack of knowledge on my part but I thought this meant to single crochet all 6 stitches together. If that was what was meant I was unable to get all 6 on one stitch, the give of the yarn just wouldn’t allow it (I do have a relatively tight tension). Therefore, I did chain 1 followed by sc tog 3 stitches and then sc tog the remaining 3 stitches. It didn’t seem to affect the outcome.
  2. Tail: I had the same problem on the last line of the tail, but again I’m assuming this is just a problem with understanding what you meant by sc together on my behalf.
  3. Whale body: Everything worked up really nicely. My only suggestion would have been to do the slipstitch color change in the back loop only so that you get a clean transition line. I feel like this is what you were going for, however, since it didn’t specify BLO I did it in the full stitch and it didn’t give a crisp transition. I would also specify to make the smile in worsted weight black yarn and add it to the materials list as well as a placement suggestion.

Overall, this has been one of the best patterns I have tested in the last few weeks so great job! :whale: :blue_heart: :heartpulse::purple_heart:
