Tip for row numbers

It’s hard for me to remember which row of decreases I’m on. (or what row in general) Thought of this today. 8 hooks, 8 stitches. Next row, remove one hook. 7 hooks, 7 stitches! This will really help me! Just wanted to share.

I always get lost and when it’s close to beginning I always undo it and start again

This reminds me of the knitting row counters… You have 10 rings attached to each other and you put the first ring in your needle, when you finish that row or round you put the second ring on your needle, dropping the first to indicate row 2… If you have more than 10 you mark the first ring with a clip to say 1 set of 10 plus whatever ring you are on (so first ring on needle with first ring marked is 11th row, 5th ring on needle with 6th ring marked would mean 65th row)
Hope that makes sense…
Anyway, your counter made me think of that and I always wondered if there was a way to do similar for crochet… Apparently there is, so kudos
