Today’s tip is to always make a journal stating which yarn and hook size you’re using. That way when you go back to it, you won’t have to guess. Also, if you are creating a pattern that would already have that written in it, be sure to pay attention to the stitches you’re using. Instead of using single crochet I just assumed it was my favorite stitch pattern the lemon peel stitch. Oops.
Thank you and good luck frogging that chenille yarn!
Great tip! I have a tapestry wip sitting around I’ll have to frog since i didn’t write this stuff down it was coming out so well too
Not a problem. Came out easy for me. Maybe because of the large hook.
Bummer, maybe guess first and see if it looks right?
I like using a stitch marker with an index card to mark down what I used, that way the paper stays with the project XD
I have the yarn bunched with it, but missing the hook size as well as what row i’m on i tried guessing at it but nothing matched up lol
What’s the lemon peel stitch? Is it a common stitch for blankets?
It is the bottom half of the picture I posted. The top half is single crochet. I love the texture of it so much. I use it a lot.
It is also known as the seed stitch. And Marly Bird calls it a single double. Basically it is a SC, DC repeat. Row 2 has the SC in the DC from the previous row, and the DC in the previous SC.
i believe the moss stitch is something different, where you do [sc, ch, sk 1]x? and then in the next row, you do the sc in the ch, etc.
and from a diff website, that is also called the granite stitch, so those are different from the lemon peel stitch.
I thought they were different too. Thanks for checking. I know there are a lot, but didn’t verify myself. Oops.
Linen stitch is also the same as moss now that I look. It says it makes it stretchy. I might try that for a project I have in mind.
I wish there were lists here, so we didn’t have to search all the time. Editing the post.
np!! yeah, moss stitch is very stretchy :D
