Sry I only tried knitting once and don’t remember anything really : (
I’m a beginner too! Make lots of swatches to practice different stitches, and that’ll help you practice your tension and speed and everything!
i think it should say what needle to use on the label
Also, knitting needles also usually will say a mm measuremnt as well, or you can look up a conversion
I’m working on a project with US size 6 needles, which is 4mm
I would recommend size 8 9 inch knitting needles bamboo or wooden if you can afford them, and worsted weight wool or acrylic yarn
For a beginner that is
I’m not a master knitter by any means but I usually use a size bigger than I would with my crochet hook (I never follow the labels)
just match the size to the labels and i would suggest trying continental style knitting if you crochet
Some knitting styles are easier for righties and some are easier for lefties, so I would reccomend finding one that fits your dominant hand better or trying a few different knitting styles and seeing which one works best for you! Hope this helps!
Especially continental knitting! Your left hand holds the yarn the same as it does with crochet, so it moght make an easier transition
