Ribbuild can walk you through the entire pattern writing. Does a lot of it for you.

Definitely use the help provided to learn what is available here. It’s pretty easy once you try.
My tip, is be prepared to make it again when you are done, to see if it works the way you intended. Then after, send it to testers. They can be very helpful.
