Today I Learned

I just got to my Woobles kits I got for Christmas. I did Gary’s food dish first. It came out a bit weird. That’s ok. Then I did Gary. (the snail, in SpongeBob’s universe, they are domestic cats.) Well, I started him. I have learned that left handed folks crochet a bit differently. I call myself right handed because when I started school, they forced me to use my right hand, but I still mostly do everything left handed or backwards with my right hand.

So I couldn’t figure out why Gary’s foot wasn’t flat. Turns out, the pattern’s front loop is my back loop. I crochet things to the right and with amigurumi, from the inside of my project. I’m 40, I’ve been doing this since I was 4 and all these years couldn’t figure out why my things didn’t always match an example when I followed instructions closely!

I feel so silly!

I’m also curious, might anyone know what type of yarn it is called that Woobles use? I’d love to get more colors than they have available in their own yarn so I can teach my much younger cousin to crochet. It’s like a nylon cord with stuffing inside? Is it what folks call T-shirt yarn?

Their yarn is called easy-peasy yarn!

Woobles actually also sells their yarn separately! It is a type of t-shirt yarn, but it doesn’t have stuffing inside.

It is called Ribbon yarn. You can get some from Premier Yarns for a good price. Wait till it goes on sale though.

as others have said, woobles sells their yarn separately (easy peasy yarn)… however, i’ve found that bernat maker yarn is super similar :]

Thank you, Woobles doesn’t sell many colors of their yarn, so I wanted to find similar for more variety.
