Hi!
tc stitches are the bane of my existence… the top of the stitch always ends up larger than the bottom stitch, & I don’t know how to remedy this (or if I should?). Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like your tension (how tightly or how loosely you hold your hook while crocheting) is not consistent or even.
I would suggest making swatches of treble stitches (squares or rectangles) until you get the hang of it
I do work on my tension (I tend towards tight versus loose ). My issue is knowing how to adjust that tension as I’m making the treble crochet. I do fine with double crochet, but creating the post on the triple just feels… different, & I don’t know if I should be tightening my tension as I YO/loop up? Attached a photo showing the top of a series of stitches, with my treble crochet stitches identified in blue.
Now that I see your picture it doesn’t look so bad. If you feel that the last part of the stitch looks too loose, you can give it a very slight pull when you do that part.
Thank you— that is exactly the kind of direction I needed here!
Or right before you do that part of the stitch, make sure that the yarn is a bit tighter around the hook before you pull the last yarn over through to finish the stitch
I usually tighten the loop on my hook before I make the stitch (around the neck of the hook where it’s thinner), if I’m having problems with the top being too loose.
