Tunisian help and explanation for newbies to tunisian crochet

What is Tunisian crochet, I have heard of it but I do not know what it is.

Think of it like a crochet hookk… that’s reallly long. It’s a mixture or knits and crochet. Because it’s so long, it’s able to mimic knit stitches.

Thank you my mom got me some tunisian hooks but I havent figured out how to use them or what to make with them.

Makes sense to me lol most people think im 11 or younger but im 18 lol.

At least YouTube is around to learn things from. I had to teach myself from books years ago because the internet was not publicly accessible yet.

It is sort of a mix of crochet and knitting. To make a row you pick up loops in stitches and have all of them on your hook at the same time, and then to finish the row you basically chain through the loops until you have worked all but one off the hook. Because you pick up loops in a way similar to knitting, you can achieve designs that look like the fabric was knitted.
