Hey knotties! I was thinking of doing free Youtube tutorials for some of my crochet patterns eventually.
So when you guys find a free tutorial of a pattern on Youtube – do you prefer voice-over of the pattern or strictly subtitles with music in the background? I personally prefer subtitles with music only but curious what others prefer!
I like the subtitles mainly because YouTube doesn’t always get it right on the closed captions and when I crochet with my kids home it’s hard to hear. Also if you have any fans who are Deaf or hard of hearing it helps them out a lot too.
I personally like both! Sometimes I watch tutorials but I can’t focus on what they’re saying, so I enjoy just being able to read. But on the other hand, it might be hard for some to focus on what you’re crocheting and also trying to read subtitles. So I think having both is great, I can’t choose just one haha
I was also thinking both! I can definitely add the subtitles on my own since YT doesn’t always get it right. Also people can just mute me if they don’t want to hear my voice
I think I might test out recording today and we shall see how that goes!
I’m okay with voice overs, but if it’s too much work for you subtitles are completely fine sometimes YouTube’s subtitles are wrong so that might be nice.
There are some times I want subtitles only and some times I want voice-overs, so I guess I fall in the middle? it’s not dependant on the pattern, but I like having the option, myself.
I like both not if you go with subtitles I prefer no background music , for me it is distracting. I know I can mute it so there is that
Thank you for asking
