okay so my go to as a start is always miku. shes not the best, not the worst, but shes got the most. pesronally i really love m@gical 
cure! love ☆ shot! by sawtone and あいして、あいして、あいして (or love me love me love me in english,) despite the fact that they are two polar opposite songs. bitter choco decoration and brain fluid explosion girl also should be mentioned here!
popipo, magnet and triple baka are also some fantastic mentions here which actually leads me to my next one
kasane teto! she is an utauloid but shes also amazing. she was in triple baka but also in mezmerizer (also a great song.) obsolete meat by the same creator as mezmeriser is also fire. tetoris has been stuck in my head for dayssssss
moving on as a quick honorable mention but luka luka night fever is another great classic
gumi is another fantastic vocaloid, my personal fav is echo but she has some other great stuff, i would def check her out!
next up is the kagamine twins. their stuff can get interesting (cough cough plusboy cough cough) but thy also have some good stuff. sweet magic is one of my favorite vocaloid songs of all time bc its the second song that got me into vocaloid, the first being miku. bring it on my giga is also top teir honestly.
okay, so technically ghost rule is a miku song, BUT lin’s version is objectively the best.
a little bonus: king by i wantttt to say meiko? is also a great one!

miku is a pretty good start you can read my yapping above or honestly judt look up vocaloid playlistw on youtube and go from their. personally i started with project mirai on the ds, but project sekai is free if youre looking to start with a game. talkloids videos are usually pretty funny and can get you acquantied with thr vibes of utau/vocaloid :] this is one of my fav talkloids:

I would consider it, depending on whether there were rules in place that would prevent me getting triggered about not talking abt mental health, only voicebanks. If not tho I wouldn’t risk it.
