What are “Views”??

Hi everyone, I have a quick question. What are the “views” in your profile? I know there’s a section for how many posts you’ve viewed, and at first I thought that’s what it was, but then after looking at some other users; I realized the number was very different. And they are located in different parts of the profile section.
