Hi! I fell in love with a very cute crochet pattern and I bought the yarn to make it. Everything was great until then. After I made the head of the plushy I realized that it‘s not even looking a bit like the image. 
I also looked up the journals and they were all made with different patterns than the one they posted it on. I don‘t want to link the pattern yet because I don‘t know if it‘s my fault or the designer‘s. I also messaged the designer because I wanted to know which yarn she/he used 2 month ago but he/she still didn’t answer. So I can’t even reach out to her/him. What would you do in such a situation?

Tbh there’s not much u could do xD if u don’t want to post it publicly u could report it to Ribblr, if the other makes are different than the pattern as well it probably isn’t ur fault
Also depends how different it is, some ppl update their patterns after the release

I also thought that it‘s very cute but I messaged the designer because of the yarn two months ago and she/ he didn‘t reply yet. The designer was last seen in June 2025 on Ribblr. So messaging her/him is not really an option.

I dissolved it a few times because I had the hope that it would work out. So I‘m now at the point where it‘s again dissolved. You couldn’t see anything if I send a picture and I‘m just too frustrated to make it again. It already took me a lot of time. Sorry

I found that exact cow on Etsy. The shop owner’s name on Ribblr is Emelene and the shop on Etsy is called EmsComfortCreatures so it may be the same person. That being said, there is a note on their shop from January saying they won’t be back until July which might be why you’re having issues reaching them. The listing for the cow says they use Faux Fur yarn, but that’s about it for materials.

I just realized her Insta is linked on her shop, and I did confirm via her link tree that this is the same person. She’s no longer selling physical items on that Etsy and opened a new shop to sell patterns on.
Buuuut good news is she posted on her Insta what yarns she likes to use!
She’s mega talented and I gave her a follow lol so I’m happy to have gone on this journey and found a new artist to add to my algorithm lol.

Interesting! I think her shop on Etsy looks confidential. Maybe it‘s my fault but I would say I‘m more an advanced crocheter. I think I‘ll just gonna let it be and we‘ll see if someone else mentions something about it.

I got curious and tried making the pattern XD
I only got to the head and considering I used the completely wrong materials I think it looks good to me? Would u be able to explain what u were having trouble with? At most I see the img is flipped but if I imagine making the same thing in fluffy yarn it would turn out the same or very similar to the pattern imo

The stuffy looks almost too perfect. They may be a really good crocheter, but with the ribbons & how perfect everything is, it almost looks like they took a picture of a stuffy that they didn’t make. Not trying to be mean, but it may just be a fake pattern. Rlly cute tho

You could always DM other crocheters who used this pattern. Except for the cactus bear, all the other pictures are of the right pattern.
The person who made it in orange with cartoon eyes did a great job, the shape is exactly like the reference. They customized the pattern by adding hair and horns, but it’s definitely the same pattern as a base.
The white and red cow looks good too, the front legs are spread further apart, but it’s probably because of the yarn, tension, or crocheting technique (YO/v-stitches or YU/x-stitches).
If you typically use YO, consider using YU. I swear that it makes a massive difference if the pattern was designed for YU.
Also, look up “how to crochet with eyelashes yarn” by Tatjana Ozolina on YouTube. This technique will help you see your stitches better and make tighter stitches if you struggle with fur yarn.

Toys made from faux Fur can be very frustrating if its not something your used to! Toys made from faux fur will usually turn out with less accent in their shape because the yarn is so soft. You usually have to stuff firmly & do molding in order to achieve specific shapes & looks.

I’ve taken a quick look at the pattern and reviews, it seems a legit pattern.(i might actually make one
)If in doubt, you can always make one in a chenille or acrylic yarn and it will give you a more clear run on getting the hang of the pattern.
