What if ribblr was for more then just people who crochet, knit, or sew?

Sooo, just an idea, but that would be suuuuuper helpful. Because, if you do anything other then any of things you can do on this, then you understand. Like, I do beading, and I’ve been trying to open a bead shop, but there’s just no time to find someone who is willing to help me with it, And my parents don’t have the time to take me to the local kids shop fairs, so if there was just an app that could let all artists of any kind to open online shops and sell their products, and their designs, that would be really helpful. Plus there would be people to share what you think. Like if you make jewelry, like me, then you’d be able to talk to another person who makes jewelry and you can share your idea, good places to find beads, or supplies, and all sorts of things! You could also maybe share stories you’ve made( that are appropriate) and share if your making a book. That would also be helpful. But this is just an idea. Soooo, what do you think? Yeah? Nay?

i think ribblr was made as a fibre artists place (like stuff to do with yarn/threads), but this is also a good ideaa

Oh yeah. Now explain to me how to do that please. I’m still figuring out how to use it. Is there a link I need to use?

so at the top of the page there should be a speech bubble next to your profile

then press the pencil button next to channels

press all and i think there should be the General chat and Craft talk channels for you to join?

then once u join u can js copy and paste the link of this topic there

hmmm, ribblr is a fiber arts platform-so this would probably have to result in the creation of an entirely new platform.

Ribblr is a fibre arts platform designed for crocheters, knitters, sewers and macrame designers. Other crafts that don’t fit into fibre arts are not suited to Ribblr.

You can however utilise the Personal Space - Art Creative Corner to discuss other crafts that aren’t fibre art related.

yess!! But the entire concept of ribblr is fibre art. This could be done, but it would have to be developed very slowly step by step

True, i agree with you!

I respectfully wanna say i dont think this is a good idea because it would change Ribblr COMPLETELY! I wanna see patterns because i wanna crochet but if all the listings are in the way, i might get either confused or completely annoyed, along with being overwhelmed with all the listings over time. I believe ribblr was made for patterns, not listings. If this were to come true i would just call this place an off brand etsy because over time with many crafters having the dream to sell, those who just wanna create will be blocked by all the crochet ad knitting listings on the platform. Not only that, people might buy a pattern thinking its a plushie and/or vice versa. My advice would be to sell on etsy. Its online and convenient. Thx for reading my long rant.

Ribblr is made for specifically fibre arts though what you’re talking about would be a completely different site it just wouldn’t be ribblr.
