Hey crocheters!
I’m deeply in love with chunky yarns, especially chenille yarns. I would like to ask which one is the best in your opinion?
Here some photo of my recent crochet projects with chunky yarn✨ I hope you will like it and even find it inspiring! Have a nice day!!!

Big Twist Soft Yarn and Bernat Blanket Yarn are the chunky yarns I’ve used and love to use, as well as Lion Brand Hometown, Lion Brans Hometown USA (don’t know if there’s a difference or not) and Lion Brand Mandala Thick and Quick!
Which ones do you prefer and would suggest?

Totally unrelated to your question, but those hats

I like Wool Ease Thick and Quick by Lion Brand for slippers but nothing else- has wool.
I like Bernat Blanket and Velvet.
I do NOT like Bernat Softee Chunky, anything by Red Heart or Premier,
And of course, my favorite yarn is Universal. i
It’s 100% wool, and right now 50% off.

I’m not the biggest fan of using Bernat Blanket yarn, however when it comes to chunky chenille, I love Loops&Threads Chenille Home! I do find it can shed a little bit when working with it and weaving in ends, so make sure you have a lint roller.

@summerbugcrafts Is it significantly less expensive than bernat blanket? Does it hold up over the long term? Like multiple washings?

It’s priced at about the same. Bernat Blanket is probably easier to get a hold of since Loops&Threads is a Michaels exclusive I believe. I have yet to wash it so I’m not sure on that front.
I just prefer working with it. I’m not fond of how Bernat Blanket feels on my hands or how it doesn’t glide easily on my hook.

Gotcha! I can’t stand it when it doesn’t glide easily on the hook.

i like bernat blanket although it isn’t the softest in my opinion. my favorite is sweet snuggles by loops & threads! i get it at michael’s for $10/skein (idk if it’s pricey or not compared to others but it’s the only weight 7 yarn i use so i pick a few up every once in a while!) it is the absolute softest but it does fall apart a little bit. my work is always intact but whenever i stop crocheting i have a bunch of little fuzzy bits all over me
also, the yarn itself is actually a tiny little thread with the fuzzy stuff attached to it somehow, so things like safety eyes are a bit difficult because the space you’re putting them into is a lot smaller than it looks (if that makes sense) but regardless of the few cons it’s my god tier soft chunky yarn selection! <3

oh gosh. i just realized you’re probably talking about chunky yarn as in weight 5 or 6 yarn, right? i apologize. the yarn i mentioned is jumbo aka weight 7. i’m more used to the numbers as opposed to the names for different yarn weights. and i use “chunky” often in my daily life so i’m not used to it having a defined meaning
