One time I tried making this shrimp and when trying to make the curve it was curving the wrong way. Then I tried frogging but I was using chenille yarn and it snapped. Now it is sitting in a bin in the corner of my room
My first project, a dragon, when I only knew what a chain and a singe crochet was…
I was making this large spider but the safety eyes I was using (I think it was like at least 30 mm) was NOT snapping with the backing. I tried so hard but it was literally impossible ![]()
I eventually harvested the eyes from the spider for a different project with smaller yarn (wow that sounds so wrong now that I think about it) and the spider has a huge gaping hole in its head
I have definitely ripped eyes out of failed plushies to use them for other things. Especially when I market prep, I can’t waste them
A dragon would be a hard first project. They require SO much sewing
One of my first crochet projects was the Wednesday Addams vest and it was wayyyy too ambitious. I finished it but it looked AWFUL due to my tension being too stiff and my sewing subpar.
The worst part is when you first start crocheting you don’t really know about sewing and stuff. So when my friends want to crochet I tell them to do a no sew pattern.
“Harvested the eyes” what a beautiful way to say it
You to that spider:
Umm excuse the drawing (it was a quick doodle)
oh my gosh it’s beautiful lol
also np about the drawing! tbh I wouldn’t have put as much effort in replying, thanks for making giggle
that is definitely good advice!
I tried to make a cow for my mom but I used thick white chenille yarn for the body and relatively medium weight pink velvet yarn for things like the hooves so it js looked so inconsistent and weird, AND it looked like a bear ![]()
