My favorite for Bernat blanket is an 8mm, and for acrylic a 4.2mm
Mine is a 8mm because it goes with my fav yarn it’s a metal not plastic one and it’s like my only hook that doesn’t make my hand cramp lol
Mine is a 2.5mm
I pretty much only use the plastic 6mm hook I got from hobby lobby when I first tried their bigger yarn
My favorite is my beautiful 3.5 mm hook, i use it for almost everything

Prob a 4 or 5 mm one, i can use them for basically anything
my fav is a metal 4mm hook
5mm for my bulky/posh yarns and 3.5 for acrylics
For cotton and acrylic yarn I use my trusty 3mm (I especially love it because the handle has pink and blue checker and it’s soo cute!) and for bernat blanket I use a 6mm or 6.5mm
