What kind of yarn do you use? And how do you price it

It’s so difficult knowing how much to charge when you work with varying yarn types, does anyone have any tips cause the size and expense difference is insane?!

Apart from that I’m just curious at what yarn other people use or recommend. My go to’s are Bernat blanket/baby blanket, Bernat velvet and parfait.

I haven’t posted on ribblr in a while, hope I’m not too out of touch with the new features haha!

For pricing different yarn types I just divide the number of yards by the price of the yarn. So, for example bernat blanket, 220 divided by 12 =~18 so I charge a dollar for every 18 yards.
Add the price of any other things if you’re doing amigurumi (stuffing, keychain, safety eyes, etc.) and you get what I use as my material cost.
It might be undercharging, it might be overcharging I don’t know, but it’s the way I do it lol

Estimation lol, some patterns do list the amount of yarn. There’s also calculators for it.
The baby leggy froggy keychains I sell at markets take about 10-15 yards so the yarn cost is less than a dollar. I like to use this calculator
