Howdy! I’m interested in being a tester when I can but I’m a little nervous about what to do so what’s it like?:D
I think it is a lot of fun! When accepted into the test, you get to be in a group chat with others doing the same pattern. Then you get the pattern for free even if will be a paid pattern. I have learned so many new techniques by doing this. I only started doing amigurumi a year ago. Feel free to look at my makes page!
It’s very fun! You get accepted to test and you look at the pattern. You find any typos or mistakes and you make the pattern and leave a journal and feedback!
being a tester is really fun in my opinion! it helps you be able to connect with other crochet creators and help them out in exchange for a free pattern! you can go to Testing zone and scroll through to see if there are any that you’re interested in. in case you want more info about the testing process, here’s how it goes, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I’ve been a tester a lot of times and have posted tester calls for my own patterns, so I’ve done both.
testing process:
- find a pattern in Testing zone that you may be interested in testing
- read the tester requirements (due date, yarn/hook requirements, etc.)
- click the photo to apply to test
- follow the pattern creator’s instructions (usually commenting what yarn/hook you’re using)
once you’re picked:
- you’ll be added to a group chat and the pattern will be in your testing tab.
- post all feedback/constructive criticism in the group chat, not the journal (everyone can see the journal, whereas the group chat is just testers/pattern creator, which gives them a chance to correct it!)
- complete the pattern
- post a journal with a nice photo and leave a positive review
- the pattern creator will then gift you the pattern!
Just so you can see how Ribblr sees it
Sometimes it’s overwhelming, especially if you’re a procrastinator lol
Although, I won’t discourage you from doing it!! It’s definitely worth it! I love testing for others
