Hey! I think being able to turn a mess of string or cloth into a work of art is quite a superpower! And I’m always amazed when I open this app and see all of your creative ideas made real!
I love yarnbending, and my kids love when I make stuff, but I also have another amazing talent: I can eyeball the ingredients and still come up with an amazing cake (according to my spouse and kids anyhow) and I can usually get any recipe right the first time I make it.
What are your (other) superpowers? I’d love to see what you get up to when you aren’t making works of art on here
i don’t really do much besides crochet, but i can replicate my grandfather’s strawberry cake recipe pretty well
I’d say that definitely counts as a superpower
Being able to replicate someone’s cooking is always hard to do. I still can’t get my mom’s spaghetti sauce, and I’ve stood directly next to her, watching like a hawk several times. It’s just never the same when I make my attempt! I even asked her to buy the exact ingredients (and I asked to borrow her pot) and it’s still different
im sure that one day, you’ll stumble into making thensauce tatse just like your mom’s
i can bake, do resin, draw pretty well
i can color very nicely as well
Oh! That sounds so amazing
I love that for you
My spouse draws, but I haven’t been able to lately
I hope so… I’d love to be able to pass it down to my kids
I also eyeball everything when cooking and it turns out so good still. It amazes my boyfriend. Hopefully my son will love my cooking. (He’s only 6months atm)
My other super power would be getting things straight or perfectly spaced by just looking at them and not having to measure them. Like when I am making cards for birthdays or hanging up a photo on the wall. I will eyeball it first and measure to check and it’s usually spot on.
My grandmother was an amazing cook, did catering around town for many years before she passed. This cake was always my favorite and I made it with her many times since I was really little. I still make it every year for my birthday. A chocolate mousse cake.
Chicken and dumplings, a comfort food
Lasagna Rolls I whipped up one night with leftover lasagna noodles we had.
Actual Lasagna, also my grandmothers recipe, I always made this with her too. We used to make like a dozen and freeze them and give them out. Everyone wanted one when we made them.
And some potato soup that came out SO GOOD
Oh my goodness!! Now I’m hungry
That all looks amazing!
And I’m sure your 6mo will be impressed as well. There’s something magical about being able to look at a bunch of ingredients and turning it into something delicious. Like love made tangible (and delicious)
I can turn black dots on a page into music, I’d say that’s pretty cool
I love cooking, it’s definitely a love language.
It certainly is!!! Being able to read music has always impressed me. Being able to look at ink on a page and hearing music seems like something a fairy would be able to do
I think playing the cello is a superpower
I am biased because I can also play cello,
But really, your hand controlling the bow and your fingers doing a different motion and movements altogether while reading notes on a page and still remembering to breath while multitasking and doing all that is pretty impressive.
Oh definitely!!! Being able to take a funky shaped chunk of wood and/or metal and cause it to be able to make sounds that can change emotions is something incredible that really doesn’t get enough praise.
I didn’t know you play cello, that’s awesome!
Me too except I play violin =D
String instruments have always intimidated the heck out of me as far as playing them… but I love listening to them. Violins, violas, cellos, and even guitars make my heart happy
It’s so incredible to see someone make strings and wood vibrate and it ends up being a beautiful song
Oh it’s not that bad! Try it someday, you just got to learn how to make your hands do different things lolll
My ex played violin, piano, flute, and guitar quite well and gave me some lessons in each one I showed interest in as though I was 5 but I couldn’t make my fingers work right. My fingers hurt too much while trying to build up callouses for me to keep it up, and even just the simple act of trying to finger the chords was just too much for my brain to be able to have accurate and reliable placement.
My sister is also someone who can play any instrument that she touches… so I think she got all the talent in that area lmao
I can sing though. If you need someone for vocals, that’s me (I was even on the radio when I was in middle school )
i just remembered something i can do, i can hold a conversation in japanese
