and that will make my slip stitch more loose? Because I don’t have to pull much to get the yarn through?

Ohhhh it’ll help with getting your hook into the slip stitch but to make your slip stitch loose you can make like a bigger loop on your hook by pulling

It has other names. This is what MarlyBird says about it. Find her tutorial if needed. “One of my favorites is the single double combination stitch. This stitch may go by a variety of other names including lemon peel stitch, seed stitch, and waffle stitch. If you know how to crochet a chain and work both single crochet and double crochet then you can create this wonderful texture. It’s a great way to make your beginner crochet work look a bit more advanced.”
